Cookies and Consent

Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technologies on our Site. For specific information about the Cookies that we use related to powering our store with Shopify, see https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate our store (e.g. for the shopping cart, language and country settings, security and storing your cookie choices) on the basis of Section 25 (2) No. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG). The related processing of personal data is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as it is necessary for your order, and otherwise on our legitimate interest in a secure and functional store (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

We only use all other cookies and similar technologies, in particular for analytics and advertising, if you have given your consent in our cookie banner (Section 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings link at the very bottom of our website. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). The services we use are described in the section "Services We Use".

Most browsers automatically accept Cookies by default, but you can choose to set your browser to remove or reject Cookies through your browser controls. Please keep in mind that removing or blocking Cookies can negatively impact your user experience and may cause some of the Services, including certain features and general functionality, to work incorrectly or no longer be available. Additionally, blocking Cookies may not completely prevent how we share information with third parties such as our advertising partners.

Our website also recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which enables you to opt-out of certain uses or disclosures of your information. If you notify us of your preference through GPC, we will treat such signal as a valid request to opt out of sharing / targeted advertising for the associated browser or device, and, if we are able to associate the device sending the signal to a Shopify account, we will apply the opt out request to the account as well. To learn more about Global Privacy Control, you can visit https://globalprivacycontrol.org/. Other than the Global Privacy Control, we do not recognize other “Do Not Track” signals that may be sent from your web browser or device.

Services We Use

Below we inform you about the third-party services we use in our store. Where a provider processes data in the USA and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR).

Shopify (store platform, hosting and chat)

Our store runs on the Shopify platform. The contracting party for merchants in Germany is Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 2nd Floor, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland. Shopify processes the data of your visit and your orders on our behalf (processor, Art. 28 GDPR), e.g. to display the store, for checkout, order processing and our chat (Shopify Inbox). According to Shopify, transfers to Shopify companies outside the EEA are based on Binding Corporate Rules (Art. 47 GDPR); for Canada, Shopify also relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision. Transfers to other third countries without an adequate level of data protection are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and otherwise our legitimate interest in a reliable store system (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Payment providers

To process your payment, we pass the necessary data (e.g. name, billing address, email address, order number and invoice amount) to the payment provider you choose at checkout. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

  • Shopify Payments (e.g. credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, EPS, BLIK, MobilePay, Shop Pay): According to Shopify, payments in Germany are processed via Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. or Adyen N.V. If you use a wallet (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay) or Klarna, the respective provider also receives the data required for the payment and processes it under its own privacy terms. With Klarna (Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden), a credit check may be carried out.
  • PayPal: If you pay with PayPal, we transmit the payment data to PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. PayPal processes the data under its own privacy statement; according to it, PayPal may also exchange data with credit reference agencies to assess your creditworthiness in connection with its services. More information: https://www.paypal.com/de/legalhub/paypal/privacy-full

Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"), integrated via the Shopify app "Google & YouTube". It allows us to analyse how our store is used, e.g. which pages and products are viewed, which search terms are entered, which products are added to the cart and which orders (including order value) are completed. Cookies are set for this purpose (e.g. "_ga" and "_ga_…", lifetime according to Google: 2 years), and information about your device, your browser, your approximate location and your interactions is processed. According to Google, IP addresses are not logged or stored in Google Analytics 4. For Google Analytics, Google acts as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). User-level and event-level data is deleted after 14 months at the latest.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie settings. A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google Ads and Google Merchant Center

With your consent, we also use Google Ads and Google Merchant Center from Google (address see above), likewise via the "Google & YouTube" app. We use them to run ads for our products on Google (e.g. in Google Shopping) and to present our products in Google services. For this purpose, the Google tag records which pages and products you view in our store, whether you add products to the cart, begin checkout and complete an order (including order value). This allows us to measure the success of our ads and product listings (conversion tracking). Google may also use this information to show you ads for our products later (remarketing). Cookies or similar technologies are used for this (e.g. "_gcl_au", lifetime according to Google: 90 days). If the "enhanced conversions" feature is enabled in our Google Ads account, Google additionally receives your email address, phone number, name and address in encrypted (hashed) form when you place an order, so that orders can be attributed to ads more accurately.

According to Google's data protection terms, Google is itself a controller for Google Ads; for enhanced conversions, Google acts as a processor. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie settings. For transfers to the USA, see "Google Analytics" above.

Pinterest Tag

With your consent, we use the Pinterest Tag, integrated via the "Pinterest" app. For users in the EEA, the provider is Pinterest Europe Ltd., Waterloo Exchange, 3rd Floor, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4, Ireland; according to Pinterest, it is a joint controller together with Pinterest, Inc., 651 Brannan St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The Pinterest Tag records visits and actions in our store (e.g. page views, cart and orders) so that we can measure the success of our advertising on Pinterest and show ads in a more targeted way. According to Pinterest, it also uses this information for its own purposes, e.g. for advertising on Pinterest. Cookies or similar technologies are used for this, and information about your device and browser is processed. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie settings. Pinterest, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. More information: https://policy.pinterest.com/en/privacy-policy

Judge.me (product reviews)

For product reviews, we use the Judge.me app of Judge.me Ltd, c/o Buckworths, 2nd Floor, 1-3 Worship Street, London EC2A 2AB, United Kingdom. Judge.me displays reviews in our store and, for this purpose, processes the information you provide when submitting a review (e.g. name, email address, star rating, review text and, if applicable, photos or videos) as well as data from your order to the extent required for review requests and for marking a review as a verified purchase. Your review is published in our store together with your name (abbreviated, if applicable). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in collecting and displaying genuine customer reviews (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

After an order, we ask you for a review by email if you have agreed at checkout or in your customer account to receive marketing emails from us. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time, e.g. via the unsubscribe link in the email or by sending us a message.

With your consent for analytics purposes, Judge.me may also receive events from our store via a pixel, e.g. page views and purchases (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG).

Judge.me processes our customers' data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR); where you provide data directly to Judge.me, Judge.me states that it is itself responsible for it. There is an adequacy decision of the European Commission for the United Kingdom. The data is mostly stored on servers in the USA; according to Judge.me, this transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). More information: https://judge.me/privacy

ParcelPanel (shipment tracking)

For shipment tracking, we use the ParcelPanel app of CWILL INC, 8 The Green, Ste A, Dover, DE 19901, USA, as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Order and shipping data is processed for this purpose (e.g. tracking number, carrier, name, email address, phone number, country and shipping address as well as the products ordered) so that you can track the delivery status of your order. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and otherwise our legitimate interest in transparent shipping (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). With your consent for analytics purposes, ParcelPanel may also receive events from our store via a pixel (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). According to CWILL, data may be processed in the USA, Hong Kong and China. There is no adequacy decision of the European Commission for Hong Kong and China, and for the USA only for companies certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. CWILL states that it implements appropriate safeguards for such transfers in accordance with data protection laws. More information: https://www.cwill.com/privacy-policy/
